It was reported that the Phenomenal orthostat seized at the Hamzabeyli Border Gate in 2007 during the kidnapping to Bulgaria was brought to Gaziantep Archeology Museum.
In the written statement made by the Governorate, it was stated that a basalt stone float orthostat seized from the Hamzabeyli Border Gate on 5 May 2007 while being taken to Bulgaria and sent to the Edirne Museum Directorate was sent by the General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Gaziantep Archeology Museum.
The sphinxed orthostat, to which the influence of the Assyrian and Aramaic arts is strongly reflected, is almost identical to that of the bearded, male-headed sphinx orthostat located in the Sakçagözü Coba Höyük in Nurdağı district of Gaziantep, the settlement of the Late Hittite Period and exhibited in the Anatolian Civilizations Museum there are also some similarities between the female sphinxes of the same mound and the Anatolian Civilizations Museum and the female sphinxes exhibited in the archeological museums of Berlin and Istanbul in Zincirli Höyük.
In the explanation, the closest analogy to the sphinx orthostat is from Coba Höyük. It is noted that the work belongs to centuries and that the work will be exhibited in a short period of time.
On the front face of the rectangular orthostat block, there are 14 pomegranate silsesils connected to each other at the top, a bearded human head with a bearded head, a winged lion body, a snake tail, and a sphinx representation in a running state. The work is 76 centimeters long, 84 centimeters wide and 20-28 centimeters In the statement emphasizing that it is thick, the following statements were included:
“The male head with a horned cone, an almond eye, a long curly long beard, wavy and curly long hair at the head, was made on a lion’s face with a sudden passage. The body of the lion, which is made of lion, is made of a stamp on the breast. Six wings were made from the inside of the front feet to the back of the body from the beginning. The wing length passed through the body, closing some of the snake-headed tail that was folded upward, partially broken and missing. Five vertical ribs were made to indicate the sphinx’s ribs. The knee joints of the hind legs are dotted. On the front of the rectangular orthostat block is seen a tree of life as far as it can be seen, and a bird figurine which is probably an eagle at the top of the tree.
